Chop Chop Hockey

Description

Gamerizon is known for their numerous Chop Chop sports titles they’ve created for mobile devices. One of our favorites of the series, Chop Chop Hockey, brings that competitive arcade experience and brutal ruthless gameplay expected in a hockey title. While there are some flaws with this game that could make some players frustrated, the overall gameplay is enjoyable to play.

Where this game really stands out from other hockey titles is the selection of teams to choose from, each with unique qualities about them. Choose from “The Killer Bees”, a team that is very fast and accurate, or “The Flamingos”, the team in pink with an INSANE goalie that stops everything that tries to get by him. When you’re ready to take your game to the next level, try the bracket style tournaments to rise your team up to champion status and be awarded the trophy. Gamerizon’s Chop Chop Hockey will bring fun and excitement to all ages, from the young rookie learning the game to the Hall of Fame athlete.

Presentation

Unlike the controls where there is only one option available, there are three different camera options where you can choose which one works best for your gaming style.

Sound

We were not huge fans of the main soundtrack as it seemed repetitive. The in game sounds however added a nice added element to the game as you can hear the crowd cheering or gasping when a play is made, or the loud sirens blasting when a goal is scored.

Controls

The controls are tricky in this one and takes some time to really grasp. Gamerizon decided to use pointer controls, which allow you to shoot, skate, check, and pass using only one finger. These controls do work once they have been mastered, however a problem with this is that there is no alternative way to play. Thankfully, they have included an in-game tutorial that will help you to become familiar with and let you practice your moves.

Replay Value

Low – With no multiplayer or achievements, once you have become victorious in all of the tournaments, there really is no motivation to keep playing.
